Mr FINN (Western Metropolitan) -- This being the last sitting week of 2009 I think it important at the end of this year to review the plight of people living in the western suburbs. Sadly, I have to report that there has been no major change throughout 2009. Neglect by this government is still the order of the day. Whether it be public transport, whether it be health, whether it be schools falling to pieces or roads, Labor just does not care.

Throughout the course of this year we have seen some corruption in the Labor empire, which has been peeled away for us to have a bit of a peek at, and one cannot help but feel that the best is yet to come. Labor's contempt for the west is obvious, because not only is it not content with dumping duds from the other side of Melbourne on us but we now see the ALP importing hacks from interstate to dump on those of us who live in the western suburbs.

Let me assure members that anger towards this government, anger towards this Labor Party is building to explosive proportions in the west of Melbourne. As we have come to expect, even in terms of that anger, Labor does not care. It does not matter what the issue is, it does not matter what the concerns of people living in the west of Melbourne are, members of the Labor Party just do not care. In November next year I have a feeling they just might.
